Founded in 2004 by Carol Smith, Employment Readiness Solutions provides job search, career transition and career exploration services to individuals trying to navigate their way through the “rules and trends” of looking for satisfying work in the 21st Century.

Services are customized to the individual and their unique situation. No “cookie cutter” solutions are automatically applied! Services include one-on-one coaching to develop an effective action plan, interview preparation and resume development, group workshops, personal resource guide development and employment planning – all to help an individual acquire a job and career that is right for them.

The Route to Success program series was designed for the underemployed - focusing on reaching financial stability through employment stability.

By working with Carol or a member of the ERS team, a job seeker or career changer will learn which 21st Century skills and attributes are most important to any employer, for virtually every occupation – and discovering which ones are a strength and which ones need to be acquired.




Carol and Employment Readiness associates have extensive experience working with individuals from all walks of life and work experiences.

With a background in one-on-one case management through the workforce development system in the State of Wisconsin, Carol has developed services that meet the needs of individuals beyond the normal business day.

Carol says “Job seekers and career changers need services after many providers close their doors at 5:00 p.m. At Employment Readiness Solutions, we are available evenings and weekends to assist people who need the support and ultimate results that our services provide.”
